Recap: March in Review

10 April 2021

Article By: Mark "FarouqDubz" Wheal

So what happened in March (and a bit of April)? Here's a line by line catch-up.

Out first channel giveaway happened with ZombiePie taking home £40 in steam vouchers as the top prize. JuicynotKatie won themselves one of the three limited edition "Mugs of Neil" and Sxudge won a yet to be purchased T-Shirt (sorry dude, its coming I promise).

Our League of Legends team closed out their season with a 1 in 6 record, finishing in 6th place overall. Not bad for a side hastily thrown together and who suffered from players departing mid-season or unavailability issues of starters. Well done team.

Our official team jerseys arrived!! If you haven't seen, then where have you been? An excellent addition emblazoned with our partners logos at AMD and Omen. Keep an eye out for Tranche 2 of jersey purchase's to secure yours.

We hosted our first Warzone tournament which largely flew under the radar. The experimental event I believe was a great success and gives us something to build on for the future. It was eventually won by a late replacement team of Teq and Dizzy, Well done to them and be sure to keep an eye out for the next one.

As is expanded on in another article, the CoD A Team brought home REME Esports' first league title. An absolutely dominant display from the team that finished with a flawless map record. Fantastic achievement lads, looking forward to where you can get to next season.

MRKFour joined the engine room helping to alleviate some of the management burden on the existing team. as the resident tech expert and all round gaming enthusiast, he will definitely be a valuable edition going forward into Season 4.

Our media team has also added a Marketing graduate as an advisor to their ranks to provide some expert knowledge. This should assist with our engagement across our social media platforms. I won't name names at this point, but we are grateful for your input and look forward seeing where we can develop in future.

WatOOttO has taken up the post of R6 Siege manager and we look forward to seeing what team he can build with what is a very widely played game. Be sure to contact him on discord if interested in R6.

The virtaul-pub area of the discord is live and provides an excellent place for members to "chew the fat" with each other during these times of lockdown and beyond. I'm pretty sure Sushi is the Landlord and is largely available to share a drink and some dits, be sure to join in or arrange a call sometime.

I think that's it by and large, keep an eye out on the news feed here on the website and socials for up to date information regarding REME Esports. If you'd like to become a website contributor, its open to all REME Esports Club members, give me a DM if interested.

Dubz out!
